RBHA Donation Goals and Guidelines

1. RBHA’s goal is to give back to the local community through charitable contributions.
2. Causes should be important to the Rehoboth Beach Community at large.
3. As an organization we want our membership and community at large to know that we support making our local community a better place.
4. Through charitable giving we hope to build alliances with other organizations and individuals who are potential partners.
5. As an organization we also strive to give year-round through volunteering, event sponsorship and charitable drives.
6. We hope to build a loyal and positive membership culture through responsible and exemplary charitable giving.
7. As an organization we are committed to devoting sufficient time, and energy into choosing organizations that support RBHA’s goals and values.
8. Annual charitable contributions will be based on current funding levels and determined by the RBHA board at large.

Guidelines to Evaluate Charities, Nonprofits, and Causes before Giving

1. Make sure it’s a registered 501(c)(3).
2. See if the charity’s goals and values align with our organization.
3. Determine whether or not its objectives are attainable.
4. Examine annual reports.
5. See how transparent the organization is.
6. Research the founders, board of directors or leadership team.
7. Look deeper than financial postings to determine efficacy.
8. Compare with similar organizations.
